Following his historic win in the 2025 midterm elections, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has been accommodating a list of local leaders from across the country who requested that the senator administer their oaths of office. On Wednesday, June 25, one of the senator’s guests at the Senate included Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur Mayor‑elect Annea de Leon, the niece of veteran politician and Ilocos Sur patriarch Chavit Singson.

The ceremony became an opportunity for the senator to honor the long‑standing support that Singson and his family offered to former President Rodrigo Duterte from the very beginning.

“Malaking tulong si Sir Chavit noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Duterte,” said Go. “Of course, noong 2015, na konti pa lang po ‘yung naniniwala sa kakaikot ni Tatay Digong… Sila Governor Chavit po ang tumanggap sa amin, ‘yung pamilya po nila sa Ilocos Sur.”

The senator spoke with affection about the deep bond he and Duterte shared with the Singson family. “Maraming salamat po, Sir, sa inyong suporta at pagmamahal ng inyong pamilya… Maraming salamat sa ating legendary Governor Chavit Singson,” said Go.

He also acknowledged how the legacy of service shines in the next generation, referring to de Leon’s new role as mayor.

“Dito lang po tayo, magkasama tayo sa pagseserbisyo sa ating mga kababayan. Once again, congratulations at mabuhay po ang ating mga kababayan sa Ilocos. Thank you po,” added Go.

Later in the day, the senator also administered the oaths of office to newly elected local leaders from Dingras in Ilocos Norte; General Mariano Alvarez in Cavite; Bocaue in Bulacan; Marikina City; Alcala in Pangasinan; Valenzuela City; and from the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Districts of Bulacan, as well as the 1st and 3rd Districts of Batangas.

Prior to this, the senator administered the oaths of office to newly elected local leaders from across the country, including those from Lumban in Laguna; Kalinga; Nueva Vizcaya; Lamut in Ifugao (Cordillera Administrative Region); Parañaque City; Barotac Viejo and Pavia in Iloilo; Puerto Princesa City in Palawan; Mangaldan in Pangasinan; Margosatubig in Zamboanga del Sur; Manila; Masbate; Candaba in Pampanga; Lamitan in Basilan; Valencia City in Bukidnon; Pila in Laguna; and San Jose, Padre Garcia, and Bauan in Batangas.

These ceremonies reflected the senator’s call for dedicated public service rooted in integrity, compassion, and genuine malasakit for every Filipino, by partnering with local leaders in pursuit of bringing services closer to constituents in need especially in the grassroots.

“Ilapit ang serbisyo sa inyong mga nasasakupan at maging patas ang pagtingin sa lahat. Laging uunahin ang kapakanan ng mga mahihirap at higit na nangangailangan. Maging tapat sa tungkulin para manatili ang tiwala ng publiko sa mga nasa gobyerno,” said Go.
